What is an art-specific marketing agency and do any exist?
An art-specific marketing agency would be one that focuses solely on helping artists and photographers sell more of their work and services. It would understand the unique friction inherent in the art selling process and work exclusively with artists—not dog-walking businesses, handbag sellers, or plumbers. Despite speaking with 100,000+ artists and photographers over many years, no legitimate agencies of this type appear to exist. What does exist are solo consultants who might represent two or three artists, but not full-scale agencies dedicated exclusively to art marketing.
