What does it mean to be 'reflective' rather than 'predictive' in my marketing?

Being reflective means you stop trying to predict what will work and instead take action, then look back at the results to inform your next steps. Don’t look into a crystal ball wondering and creating things based on predictions. Instead, do some stuff—put out a piece of art, run a campaign, test something—and then reflect on what just happened. Analyze what worked last week or last month to decide what you should do next week or next month. This is the opposite of the predictive approach, where you’d say ‘I’ve got an idea for a piece, now I need to build a whole website, create a new brand name, develop an entire series’ before ever testing if anyone wants it. Reflective marketing means you make one piece, show it to people, see if they like it, and if they do, make more. If they don’t, you’ve invested minimal time and can move on to the next test.
