Why doesn't the conventional 'right way' of running Facebook ads—targeting cold buyers directly—work well for selling art?
The conventional approach of immediately targeting cold traffic to drive sales doesn’t work for art because people don’t make impulse art purchases while scrolling social media. Unlike novelty products or low-cost impulse buys, art requires a relationship-building process. You don’t walk into a bar and ask a stranger to sleep with you—you have a conversation, build trust over time, and develop a connection. Art sells the same way: through consistent engagement, nurturing, and relationship-building before asking for the sale.
