How do I spread the word about my book to people I used to work with but no longer have direct access to?
Find trusted insiders—people in those locations who like and trust you—and give them a free copy of your book. Ask them to read it, and if they like it, give them a second copy to share or show around casually. You can even ask if they’d be willing to keep a few copies on hand (in their car or office) to sell directly if people express interest. Provide them with business cards so interested parties can reach out to you. This creates low-key, authentic word-of-mouth within communities you no longer access yourself. Your insiders have the time and proximity to have those conversations naturally, and if they genuinely like the book, they’ll spread the word for you.
