Why are conversations with potential buyers so important?
Your job as an artist is to have as many conversations as possible—with people who haven’t bought and those who have. Never shy away from conversations; try to have more, lean into them, cultivate them. Conversations help you get to know people, build relationships, turn buyers into collectors, work on upsells, and open bigger opportunities. Until you’re selling at such high volume that it’s not feasible, try to have a conversation—phone, video call, even email—with everyone who inquires. It’s way more valuable than hiding behind your website and letting people just browse. Face-to-face or voice-to-voice contact is winning.
