How did you build your email list when you were starting out doing art shows?

While traveling and doing 25-30 art shows per year, collect email addresses from everyone who shows interest - friends you make, people you sell to, anyone who engages with your work. The key is to physically touch and connect with people in person, then capture their contact information. There’s nothing like going out and actually meeting people face-to-face. Once you have their emails, stay in touch with them consistently. Building that initial list through in-person contact at shows and events creates a foundation of real relationships with people who have already seen and connected with your work.
