Should I upload my work to marketplaces like Fine Art America or Redbubble?
Uploading all your work to marketplaces like Fine Art America, Redbubble, and similar platforms is one of the biggest mistakes you can make when starting an art business. While it’s easy and you might get an occasional sale, nobody is making a real living from these platforms. The reason is simple: these marketplaces are completely overcrowded. Thousands of artists from every country upload tens of thousands of new pieces every single day. When something is that overcrowded, there’s no return in it—it’s like an investment that everyone knows about, which makes it the worst investment. You have no edge or advantage. The correct path is to build a direct business where you sell directly to your customers with no intermediary. This is how the most successful artists and photographers have built their businesses, hands down, no debate.
