Why is having multiple revenue streams important for artists?
There’s no reason you have to be pigeonholed into being just one type of artist or having just one revenue source. Your creative talent can go in many directions. Build multiple pillars: originals, prints, greeting cards, workshops, gallery sales, direct sales, licensing—whatever works for you. The goal is to monetize your creativity in ways that allow you to feed your family and sustain your practice long-term. Different revenue streams also serve different purposes: some are for profit, some are for customer acquisition, some are for brand building. Having this diversity makes your business more stable and resilient. Never met a revenue source for artists I don’t like, as long as it’s legal.
