What did Picasso say about pricing and selling work early in an artist's career?

Picasso advised a fellow artist: ‘Don’t price them too high. What matters is that you sell a large number of them. Your drawings must go out into the world.’ He also noted that early on, he did not command high prices, but all of his work sold. The key insight is that if work isn’t selling now, it’s not going to sell 15 years from now. There’s no reason to keep it in your basement. The work must sell and go out into the world—that’s more important than holding out for high prices on every piece.
