Why is promoting your entire catalog important, not just new work?
If you want to make passive income from your art, you need to keep selling work you created two, three, four, five, even ten years ago. The only way that happens is if you promote it periodically—you don’t have to promote every old piece monthly, but you should promote each piece a couple times per year. This is especially important because your new followers have never seen your older work. When you only post your newest paintings, you’re leaving money on the table. Think about how large your catalog might be—most people visiting your site won’t browse through everything. If you’re not actively putting those older pieces in front of people through social media and email, they’re essentially invisible and not generating any income.
