Is it important to be vulnerable with my audience as an artist?
Yes, vulnerability is important, but it doesn’t have to be extreme or immediate, especially if you’re new to marketing. Being vulnerable means being real and human—sharing not just your successes but occasionally your struggles, your process, what inspires you, even failures. It’s about giving people a complete picture of who you are as a person, not just as an art-producing machine. That said, you can build up to deeper vulnerability over time. Start with basics: share your story, your ‘why,’ what you do when you’re not creating. As you get more comfortable and see how people respond positively, you can share more. The key is that people need to see you as a real human being they can connect with, not a perfect, untouchable artist. That human connection is what builds the know-like-trust factor that leads to sales.
