Why is it worth the time to personally follow up with customers after a sale?
Following up with customers is worth the time because you’re investing in your highest-value prospects. Remember how hard it is to acquire a customer in the first place - all that marketing, time, and energy. When you open up a personal line of communication through email (or phone call or postcard), you create an opportunity for conversation and for them to get to know you better on a personal level. You’re in this business for life - this is the long game. You never know when a customer might buy again; it could be years. But engaging in this type of personal communication will increase those chances. It strengthens the relationship and keeps you top of mind. If you’re just getting started and making sales sporadically, it’s very manageable. Even if you’re selling more volume, the return on this time investment is extremely high.
