How do I prepare for the critical holiday selling season at the end of the year?

The fourth quarter (last three months of the year) containing Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the holiday buying season is when more art and photography sells than the other three quarters combined - that’s just how consumer behavior works in Western society. Do not let late October or early November arrive and find yourself without a website where people can purchase, with no one knowing you exist, and having done zero marketing. This is critical regardless of what tools or platform you use. Between now and October, focus on: getting art available for sale on a proper website, capturing email addresses from interested people, learning how to email those contacts effectively, developing your social media strategy, and understanding pricing. Don’t take this cynically - you don’t need any specific service to make this happen, but you absolutely must have the machinery in place. Summer ends faster than we think, and then you need to be in business mode because the year-end sales opportunity is tremendous. Don’t waste it by being unprepared.
