I'm worried AI is going to take away jobs, including in the arts. Should I be concerned?

AI is a tool, much like the machines of the Industrial Revolution. Some jobs will shift or disappear, yes—but history shows new opportunities always emerge, and the people who adapt and use new tools to enhance their unique human skills will thrive. In the art world specifically, AI can’t replicate your personal vision, story, lived experience, or the emotional depth you bring to your work. Instead of fearing AI, learn to use it where it’s helpful (research, admin tasks, editing) and emphasize what makes you irreplaceable: your humanity, creativity, and authenticity. Collectors will always value work made by real people with real passion. Focus on that.
