I'm autistic and ADHD—social media overwhelms me. How can I approach marketing differently?
It’s understandable that social media can be overwhelming, especially with ADHD and sensory sensitivities. The key is working within your capacity and finding what you can sustain. You don’t have to be on every platform constantly. Focus on one or two platforms you can manage, even if it’s just LinkedIn or a visual search engine like Instagram with minimal interaction. Build a battle plan that works for your brain. The most important thing is some level of consistency, not perfection. If you need to step away temporarily to avoid burnout, that’s okay—just have a plan to come back. Consider getting help with the technical parts that drain you most, like website functionality, so you can focus your energy on the marketing activities that feel more manageable.
