What is the Facebook pixel and why do I need it on my website?

The pixel is a line of code you place on your website that tracks visitor actions. When someone makes a purchase and reaches your checkout success page, the pixel fires and records that conversion, identifying the buyer. This allows you to build audiences of people who took specific actions on your site. You should install it immediately if you have any e-commerce capability, as it starts collecting data that becomes more valuable over time for creating lookalike audiences and retargeting.
