Why do most artists and photographers fail to have proper samples of their work?

It’s a thousand-year-old problem rooted in bad industry habits. Artists follow the herd—they upload images to generic marketplaces or build generic e-commerce sites designed for commodity products, not art. They assume buyers will understand the differences between media types or will be able to visualize art on their walls without seeing samples. This is a deadly assumption. Art is a high-friction purchase, one of the hardest products to sell online, yet most artists treat it like selling toilet paper. They don’t realize the fundamental principle: you must show the actual product, not just images of it.
