What are the main problems with using generic AI tools like ChatGPT for art business tasks?
Generic AI tools try to be all things to all people, which creates several issues. They often produce ridiculous or overly generic language, sometimes hallucinate and create nonsense, or give results that are just okay but would be faster to do yourself. They’re not customized for the specific nuances of running an art business. To get exactly what you want requires extensive knowledge of prompting (how to drive the AI effectively) and weeks or months of tweaking and adjusting. Most generic AI tools are just boring text boxes where you input text and get text back—not a visual experience that creatives prefer. It’s like asking for a generic cookbook recipe when you want a very specific dish with particular ingredients and methods. The learning curve and time investment often cause people to give up.
