Why don't more marketing agencies focus on helping artists and photographers?

There are virtually no artist or photography-specific marketing agencies, and there are several reasons why. Chief among them: selling art and photography is genuinely hard and different from selling other products. Additionally, almost no artists or photographers have the proper perspective on how long it actually takes to build an art or photography business. When you combine these two truths—the difficulty of the work and unrealistic client expectations—you have a really bad business situation with poor incentives for launching that type of agency. It’s extremely difficult to make such an agency successful.
