What are examples of successful artists who use extensive product lines?
Wyland, often called the Marine Michelangelo, is a top 5-6 best-selling artist in the United States with 7 galleries nationwide. His business does an estimated $20-50 million per year. His prices range from $85 up to $385,000 for original sculptures, and he takes one image and turns it into 189 different products. On the photography side, Gray Malin became famous for aerial beach photography shot from helicopters. He’s been in business 18 years, does an estimated $7-10 million per year, and takes one image and turns it into 220 different products using print-on-demand. His prices start at $45 and go up to $65,000 for large diptychs and triptychs. While you don’t need to directly copy their approach, these examples show how thriving art businesses are built on extensive product lines that acquire many new customers per year.
