What should I do after shipping the prize to my contest winner?

Wait for one of two things to happen: Either the winner will email you immediately when the art arrives to express their excitement, or they won’t. If they don’t reach out, check the tracking information and wait a couple days after delivery, then follow up with your own email. Once you know they’ve received and love the art, that’s the perfect time to make an ask. Request that they take a picture of themselves holding the art that you can share on social media, explaining that it really helps you and your followers love seeing it. The smile on someone’s face holding their prize is authentic and can’t be faked—sometimes a cellphone photo is even better than professional photography because it’s real. Alternatively, if they’re not comfortable being in the photo, ask them to take a few cellphone pictures of the art hanging in their home. This gives you excellent content for Facebook, Instagram, and email marketing.
