Why is fourth quarter (October-December) so important for art sales, and when should I prepare?
The fourth quarter—October, November, and December—is by far the biggest art-selling period of the year due to holiday shopping and year-end purchasing. However, you cannot simply flip a switch when October arrives. Effective marketing requires preparation time to build audience, establish presence, and create momentum. Ideally, your website should be live and your marketing should begin at least 30-45 days before October starts. Starting earlier gives you exponentially better results than rushing to launch in the middle of the selling season. If you know you want to participate in fourth quarter sales, begin preparing in late summer at the latest.
