What's the most important metric for predicting revenue growth in an art business?
The number of new customers acquired per year is the most revenue-predictive metric for an art or photography business. If you go through a year selling only wall art and acquire 35 customers, your business will struggle to grow. But if you acquire 600+ customers through merchandise, books, and various products, you now have a much larger base to market to. Without those customers, a business might only do $2,000-$4,000 in revenue, but with them, that same business could do $50,000. Customer acquisition is the foundation that enables all future growth.
