Should I be sales-focused or more subtle in my postcard messaging?

You don’t have to be overly salesy, pushy, or resort to tactics like ‘20% discount’ offers. The primary goal of a postcard is simply to let people know you exist. You can maintain your brand voice and style while being authentic. The postcard is about starting conversations and establishing awareness, not hard selling. When something beautiful arrives on someone’s porch - your artwork on a well-designed card - it naturally generates interest and conversation. The card might end up on the kitchen counter where family members discuss it, or on someone’s desk where it stays visible. This organic discovery is more powerful than aggressive sales messaging. Focus on introducing yourself as a local creative resource and clearly communicating what services or work you offer, but let the quality of your art and the novelty of the approach do the heavy lifting.
