When should I start paying attention to analytics and stats for my marketing?

Don’t obsess over stats when you’re just starting out—for at least the first couple years, focus entirely on creating and shipping content consistently. Looking at numbers too early will only discourage you and prevent you from getting better at storytelling. Only after you have significant momentum and traffic should you start analyzing what’s working. Even then, keep it high-level: which channels drive the most website traffic, which drive sales. The goal is improvement, not validation. In early stages, all the little fires need to be put out before you can systematically analyze performance.
