How should I think about pricing as a new or emerging artist?
Don’t let pricing paralyze you or keep you from selling. Early in your career, your work might not command high prices yet, but the goal is that it all sells. As Picasso said, your work must go out into the world. Price it at a level where people will actually buy it, build your collector base, and adjust over time as demand grows. It’s better to sell 20 pieces at a lower price and build relationships and momentum than to price too high, sell nothing, and stall out. You can always raise prices later as your reputation and demand increase. Focus on volume, visibility, and getting your art into people’s hands and homes. That creates the foundation for everything else.
