I'm a parent whose 8-year-old child is very talented and personable about their art. Should I start building a business for them now, and how?

Absolutely start teaching business fundamentals now—kids are never too young to learn. However, don’t give a young child their own phone or social media access, as those are harmful at that age. Instead, you can create and manage accounts on their behalf, posting their work and building their history. More importantly, leverage their natural people skills: set up at local parks or public spaces with a table and easels, lemonade-stand style. Let them interact with people, talk about their art, and try to make sales in person. This teaches real business skills, builds confidence, and costs almost nothing. Focus on print-on-demand to create a product range without inventory costs. The goal is to teach fundamentals early while keeping it fun and age-appropriate.
