Should I negotiate prices with customers at art shows?

Be willing to negotiate somewhat, especially on display pieces that may have minor wear from traveling to multiple shows. If a piece has small nicks or flaws from being schlepped around, offering a modest discount can close the sale. More broadly, being open to some negotiation with customers is reasonable, particularly if it means moving inventory you’re ready to cycle out or making a significant sale. However, maintain your pricing structure and don’t undervalue your work - negotiate strategically, not desperately.
