How should I handle pricing differences between in-person shows and my online store?

Don’t bring up pricing discrepancies unless someone specifically asks. If questioned, explain that you offer a ‘locals discount’ at in-person markets, or that online prices are higher due to website hosting, transaction fees, and marketing costs. You can also use in-person discounts as an incentive to close sales on the spot by saying prices are lower now than they would be online. Alternatively, if someone can’t purchase immediately, offer to honor the in-person discount on their online order if they provide their email—this also builds your email list. Never proactively create controversy around pricing differences.
