How much difference can a few additional sales make at an art show?

Two, three, or four additional sales can make a significant difference, especially for artists selling expensive originals. Sometimes one big sale covers the entire cost of your show season and makes the difference between breaking even and losing money. The people you make these sales to are also far more likely to buy again in the future, so each sale has long-term value beyond the immediate revenue. This is why you can’t let potential buyers walk away without doing everything possible to convert them.
