Do I need to find a specific niche as an artist?
You don’t have to have a niche, and most people haven’t done enough marketing to actually know if they have one. You don’t get to pick your niche—your customers tell you what it is. Take multiple styles to market and after 6-12 months of real marketing, one of two things happens: either 80% of revenue comes from 20% of the work (you’ve found your niche), or everything sells a little bit across the board. Often, the artist themselves is the niche—their personality and story—and once people connect with that, they’ll buy whatever you create. Don’t pigeonhole yourself into one thing too early.
