What about selling on online marketplaces like Etsy?
Online marketplaces where you upload your images have significant drawbacks. The success rate is extremely low—perhaps one out of a hundred artists makes any real income. You don’t own the customer data, so you can’t build relationships or market to buyers directly. Many artists report that these platforms work okay initially but then sales dry up completely. The platform controls your visibility, your pricing to some degree, and your access to customers. You’re at the mercy of algorithm changes and increased competition. It’s another scenario where you don’t hold the cards.
