Why do artists need to understand that building an art business is a long game?
A successful art or photography career is fundamentally a long game—you’re going to be at this for months, years, and in most cases decades. Once you understand that, you realize success isn’t about a good month, a flash-in-the-pan marketing technique, working hard for two months then taking a break, or relying on one revenue source. It’s about showing up every week and putting in the work to build something slow and steady. If you just stick at it and stay consistent, the odds are you’re going to win. Too many artists from all age brackets and niches get this terribly wrong to the detriment of their business.
