How has COVID-19 changed people's comfort level with video technology?
COVID forced massive technological adoption by making video communication necessary for everything—weddings, birthdays, seeing grandkids, and work. This created a profound shift where people across all age groups became comfortable with video calls. People stopped caring if their hair wasn’t perfect or the lighting wasn’t ideal. Even major TV personalities started broadcasting with basic equipment. This forced learning showed that remote work could maintain or even increase productivity while making employees happier, and video was the primary tool enabling that productivity. The barrier to adoption disappeared because everyone had to learn it, and now it’s simply the accepted norm for communication.
