How long will these challenging conditions likely last for traditional art sales channels?

The reality is that nothing is opening soon—likely not until after the election, and possibly even beyond that. The pandemic has become such a politically charged issue that regardless of where the data is or what’s actually happening health-wise, the closures and cancellations will continue. Secondary lockdowns are happening again in some states. Parents are facing the reality that kids won’t return to school full-time. People are canceling vacations and rebooking, then canceling again. Tourist travel is down dramatically. The bottom line is you cannot rely on traditional channels returning anytime soon, and even when some things do reopen, they won’t have the same attendance or sales volume due to reduced travel and consumer caution. You need to move forward with a different business model rather than waiting for the old model to return.
