Why is owning my customer list and email list so important?

Owning your leads, email list, and customer list is how you build a valuable business with consistent income. You need to do direct marketing where you control the relationship with your audience. When you own these assets, you can market directly to people who are already interested in your work, generate warm opportunities, and build long-term revenue. Making the most money from your art while maintaining ownership of your customer relationships is the path to a sustainable, valuable art business. This is fundamentally different from relying solely on third-party platforms or galleries where you don’t control the customer relationship.
