Should I take the summer off from marketing my art business?
Absolutely not. Summer is one of the worst times to come off the gas, even though it’s when most artists want to take time off. This creates a huge opportunity - while others are sitting out, you can be visible and active when buyers are actually looking. No one is saying you can’t take a family vacation or get some pool time, but don’t stop your marketing efforts entirely. Summer is when bonus points are available because buyers are out with their wallets open. This is not the time to go back into the studio and focus solely on creating. Save the heavy creation periods for winter and early spring when selling opportunities are lower.
