What should be in an artist's product lineup?
You need a diverse product lineup that hits multiple price points. Art is a friction-filled purchase—buyers need to measure, consult partners, get mockups, think about it. So you need non-wall art items in your lineup that are easier impulse purchases to help you acquire more customers. Look at successful artists: one artist takes a single image and turns it into 189 different products; another turns one photograph into 220 products. You don’t need to go that far, but you do need variety. Having a robust lineup helps you sell more, acquire more new customers, get more repeat purchases, and increase your average order value. Include items at different price points from low (under $50) to high (thousands of dollars). Print-on-demand makes this possible without holding inventory or meeting minimum orders—you can have a full, robust store from day one with work you’ve already created.
