Should I post slideshows of my still images as reels, or is there a better format?

Slideshows of still images are better suited for carousels, not reels. Carousels let people spend time on each image, zoom in, and scroll through up to 20 images. Reels are primarily for video content. If you want to use still images in a reel, add a quick video of yourself at the beginning—even just saying ‘Hey, check out some of my images’—to make it more engaging. More importantly, reels need intention and context. Instead of posting a collection in one reel, create one reel per image and tell its story: when and where you took it, what you felt, what caught your eye. Every reel should give viewers a reason to stay longer than three seconds.
