Why do you say there's almost no competition for artists who sell direct?

Because 99.9999 percent of artists and photographers don’t want to do the work. They don’t want to build a direct business, learn marketing, or put in consistent effort. Most people ask, ‘What’s the least amount of time I could put into this?’ The vast majority want to just create and have customers magically appear. When you’re willing to do what most aren’t—build your own email list, create a coherent marketing strategy, execute consistently, and get close to your customers—you have almost no competition. That’s why the few who do this work succeed while the many who don’t get left behind.
