Why do most artists quit their marketing efforts too early?

Artists get fired up and start marketing for one, two, or three months, but they don’t see instantaneous results because no one has explained to them the realistic timeline for when results appear. Without understanding the long-term perspective, they quit. Then a year goes by with no marketing activity, and they start again in January like a New Year’s gym membership commitment, only to fade out by February or March. This cycle repeats because they lack consistency and realistic expectations. The pattern is exactly like someone who commits to working out but is eating cheeseburgers by month two - the effort isn’t sustained long enough to see results.
