What should I do on social media that has nothing to do with my art?
Challenge yourself with this prompt: post something that has absolutely nothing to do with your art. People can’t help themselves—they’ll try to tell a story about how they got a little sculpture in their studio and then show their art anyway. No. Post about who you are as a person. Are you a family person? Do you have kids? Dog person or cat person? Do you like beer or wine? What’s your background—were you a musician, an athlete, a teacher? Share your varied experiences. Give people ways to connect with you as a human being. That’s the programming that makes people interested enough to watch your commercials (the art). You are the show, and your art is the commercial.
