How should I conduct year-end self-reflection for my art business?

Take a quiet week around December 26th, go somewhere peaceful like outside or in the woods, and use a simple yellow pad. Write down what went well and what didn’t go well. Look at every major section of your business: Is your product resonating? Do you need different subject matter? Is your audience the problem—your social media followers and email list? Did you do consistent marketing or give up easily after a few posts? Have you been marketing for long enough, recognizing that big opportunities often come six months or years after you almost quit? Assess whether your expectations were realistic—successful artists didn’t achieve results in one month. This honest assessment gives you a clear plan for changes to make starting in January.
