Unknown artists regularly outsell world-renowned artists who have millions of followers because they’re doing the marketing work. World-renowned artists often think the quality of their art should carry the day, so they do less marketing and get beat as a result. Artists with just a few thousand followers who execute consistent marketing strategies will outperform famous artists who are lazy about their marketing. The quality of your art and the size of your following don’t determine success - your marketing execution does.
