What is romance marketing and how does it differ from what most artists do wrong?

Romance marketing, similar to Gary Vaynerchuk’s ‘jab, jab, jab, right hook’ concept, means you give value consistently before asking for the sale. You provide content, build relationships, and create emotional connections first. Most artists go wrong by right-hooking all day long - constantly pushing ‘buy my art,’ discounts, prints available, come to my show. They run ads to people who don’t know who they are, have no emotional connection, and immediately offer them a discount. That doesn’t work. You need to jab, jab, jab all year long - romance market consistently - then have the audacity to go for the right hook (the sale) when the time is appropriate.
