How do I handle a show where I didn't make sales despite advertising it?

Understand that shows are often hit-or-miss based on foot traffic, not your promotional efforts. Low attendance is the main reason for poor sales—if you expected 5,000 visitors but only 150 showed up, that’s beyond your control and not a reflection on your work or marketing. The show organizers handle most promotion. Focus instead on what you can control: having a strong booth display and collecting emails through a giveaway. If you gathered 60-70 emails, that’s a huge win—you now have people to market to indefinitely through newsletters. That’s the real value. Don’t try to pre-promote the show too much yourself; save your energy for being present and collecting contact information. Then nurture those contacts long-term.
