I used to sell well in galleries but now I'm struggling online. Why is that?
Success in galleries doesn’t automatically transfer to online sales because they’re completely different skill sets. Many gallery artists find themselves starting from scratch when building an online business—they’ve never built a social following, never sold direct to customers, and never learned digital marketing. The artists who’ve been focusing on online for a couple years are often outperforming gallery artists who are just starting. You essentially went from the front of the line to the back. You have to approach online business with a beginner’s mindset and accept there’s a long learning curve ahead, regardless of your previous gallery success.
