What is an order bump and how does it increase art sales?
An order bump is offering an additional product at checkout, like McDonald’s asking ‘would you like fries with that?’ When someone is purchasing a print from your website, at the moment they’re about to complete the purchase, you offer them something complementary - perhaps a t-shirt, merchandise, or an additional print - that they can add to their order with one click. This increases your average order value (AOV). Instead of selling just a $100 print, you might sell a $100 print plus a $20 t-shirt, making it a $120 transaction. This technique typically increases average order size by 15-20%. The key is making it easy to add with instant checkout, and offering something relevant that complements their primary purchase.
