What's the difference between excuses and actual execution in an art business?

Artists who aren’t doing the work make endless excuses: ‘I need my website ready,’ ‘I need my work photographed,’ ‘I don’t understand my niche,’ ‘I need prints made.’ It’s all BS - you’re not doing the work. Compare that to artists who are executing: they stumble through their first attempts, have technical issues, feel scared, but they still get wins and more importantly, they get that first execution in the books. The second attempt is easier, then the third, then the fourth. The only real difference between struggling and successful artists is that successful ones are doing the work despite fear and imperfection. There’s nothing more complicated than that.
