Why isn't my art getting enough engagement on social media even though my work is beautiful?

The algorithm doesn’t prioritize beauty—it prioritizes engagement signals like shares, saves, and watch time. Art posts typically get likes, but entertaining posts get shares, and shares are weighted 3-5x more than likes for reaching new audiences. If your last 9-12 posts are all art with low engagement, the algorithm learns your account is ‘skippable’ and stops distributing your content. You need to mix entertaining content in with your art posts to charge up your ‘engagement battery.’ Think of social media as a TV channel: your art posts are the commercials, but you need programming (entertaining content) between them or nobody will watch the channel.
